Teitur in Denmark [22 Jan 2007|11:25pm]

I found this, uploaded it to youtube and thought you guys might want to see it. It's from a Danish local TV station. He's playing "Louis Louis" followed by a 40-second interview in Danish - followed by the amazing "Don't want you to wake up". He's talking about a concert the following night and about having no time to see Bornholm where the gig is. Oh, and it's from 24-11-2006 :)

Hello everybody.
My name is Eryn, I live in (a suburb of) Dallas, Texas and I think Teitur is amazing.
And I basically ressurected my livejournal for the sole purpose of joining this community.

helloo! ::echoes:: [24 Dec 2005|02:08am]

yes, I have a myspace, and for anyone who doesn't, or does but isn't friends with Teitur on it, here is a bulletin he posted that I thought was quite brilliant:

I, the Teitur, want to wish you all the most brilliant Christmas and a great New Year! There is lots to be merry about. If you tune into yourselves and look at what's around you, not in newspapers, television and media, but in the space where you are. That's where you should begin. If you're still sad, try therapy, serious conversation, more sex, Louis Armstrong, chess, partying or get a traditional hobby. One of those should work. If you're still upset. Go out and make a difference and stop bullying us with self-conscious pity. One of the best ideas for a Christmas gift is Phil Spector's classic Christmas album. Go get it as a gift to yourself. Perhaps you are not a Christmas soul, but one who merely takes advantage of the better film programming of the holiday seasons, one who steals from the overwhelming supplies of excess. To you, I say: Go ahead! Go crazy! Indulge! This is a monster that cannot be ignored. Personally, I don't stress to much. Call me an observer. Be a christian, a muslim, a jew, a hindu, a hipster or a sailor, whoever you are. Love, Teitur and Oprah P.S - If you don't like your Playstation Gameboy, send it to ME!

Wirehog, anybody? [12 Apr 2005|01:11pm]

Not necessarily Teitur-related, but good anyway:
Would anyone like an invite to Wirehog? If so, leave your email address in a comment in this post and I will invite you.

Already have wirehog? Add me as a friend. Here I am.

Oh! Also on the topic of music. I recently joined a neat site where you get to listen to new music and rate it and tell them what you think. You get points for doing so and can collect prizes after you get so many points. If you're interested, take a look at it here. Yes, I get a few points for whoever signs up, but that's not why I'm telling you guys about it. Heh.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

anyone in NYC going to the Canal Room tonight? [15 Mar 2005|10:51am]

If so, I have an extra ticket to see Teitur as my sister was going with me but has to bartend tonight. I don't want any money for it, I just don't want to see it go to waste. I guess I could always just give it away outside the show, but if any LJers want it, lemme know.

[ mood | chipper ]

Last year, I think, Teitur came to The Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was on tour with Vienna Teng, Abra Moore, and B.. something. All of them were fantastic, and as each played the others sang/played along. I fell in love with Teitur's music and captivating lyrics that night. I picked up his album again today and popped it in the CD player and just floated away...
I was on a big trip of Teitur for about a month. He was all I would listen to and ultimately, my boyfriend picked it up too. During our one year aniversary, we went back to his apartment, he picked up the guitar and he played/sang "I Was Just Thinking."

Name's Alexa by the way. :)

(Did anybody else here go to the concert that night at The Ark? Just curious.)

Ohh! [10 Mar 2005|02:07pm]

I got rather excited when I checked my email today and saw an email from the Teitur fanclub stating he'd had some shows in the US. Unfortunately, I'm not near any of these places. However, I hope some of you guys are!

15th March = Canal Room, NYC. A rare Teitur with band show, doors open 7.30pm. Tickets from Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com and Canal Room box office: 212 941 8100.

18th March = The Drink, Austin, Texas. Another Teitur gig with band, as part of the SXSW convention and Teitur is playing the Nordic Nights Show with lots of other great Scandinavian acts and he is first on at 8pm sharp!

23rd and 24th March = Largo, Los Angeles, CA. Teitur plays his favourite place in LA, solo and possibly with special guests, as usual the shows are always special at this excellent vibey venue. Reservations: 323 852 1073.

Hey kids! I was in CVS earlier and "You're the Ocean" came on the overhead music. As soon as I heard those first strains a huge smile spread across my face. I then proceeded to sing along and dance a little bit. : )

I'm looking for Tina Dico's song 'Back Where we Started' I saw her open for Teitur (who is so incredibly amazing...although I prefer him playing alone rather than with the rest of the band) If anyone has the full mp3s for Tina Dico's songs, I would really appriciate it, since the ones on her site are only clips. Any help you can give me would be wonderful!

pyramids and starlight, orchestrated midnight [15 Oct 2004|06:05pm]

Have any of you heard anything from The Loft Sessions with Glen Phillips and Teitur? The three I've heard are "Last Sunset," "Earlier," and "Waiting for Mars." Of course they're all wonderful, but my favorite is "Waiting for Mars." it's very haunting.

I love Teitur so much! He needs to come back to Michigan, like, now.

Another favor for you all. I'm also looking for Teitur's Halfway Between. I heard it before he played it at the concert Friday, but I can't remember where. So if anyone has it, I would love you FOREVER.

[ mood | ecstatic ]

So I have a big favor for all you Teitur fans out there. I saw his show tonight and it was AMAZING. I saw him last year here too (UVM) and it was also amazing, but this year was a lot different from last year. It was all different, and yes, he still referred to us Vermonters as Hobbits. But I actually got to meet him...he wast just walking through the lobby, and this girl Carmen, and her friend Jamie and me and my two friends all joined in Teitur-love. Anyway, she had a camera, and so we decided that we'd get pictures with him. Which was amazing. As soon as she sends me the picture and I get a chance to scan it onto the computer, I will totally post it, because it was the most amazing thing of the night. Also, he asked one of the kids in charge where the bathroom and the kid said "There's a public one downstairs, or do you want a private one?" and Teitur, of course was like "No, no, the public one is fine." God this man is so down to earth. I adore him. And he played with a band...Christopher and this other guy with a strange name (If you know what it is, please comment and let me know, and I'll edit the post). And I was a little disappointed he wouldn't be playing solo, but he did do a lot of songs solo, which brings me to my favor. I'm looking for the Umbrellas in the Rain (I think that's what it's called...I can't exactly remember, but it's something to do with Umbrellas), and Teitur's version of Great Balls of Fire. I would be very much oblidged. Well kids, that's my experience, and look for the picture in the near future. Hopefully she will send me pictures of just him on stage, beause she knows what an ultimate fan I am. But of course, in my excitedness of actually getting to see him again, I didn't even think about bringing a camera. Stupid me. Oh well. Hope y'all have a good night/morning.

They Slash Themselves [06 Oct 2004|08:42pm]

[ mood | THRILLED! ]

Can i just say that I'm seeing Teitur on Friday night up here in Burlington, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've had a hard time sleeping because I've been so excited about it. Good god Friday can't come soon enough. Plus, no class on Friday, because Vermont is against Columbus Day, because of the oppressive nature of his treatment of the natives. Which means no class Friday instead of not having class Monday, which means that I can sleep as late as I want and have lots of energy for one of my favorite musical artists.
